A podcast is distrubuted across the internet and can be listened to at anytime.

Advantages of Podcasting:

• develops literacy
• supports questioning
• develops speaking and listening skills
• develops ict skills such as editing.
• helps engage children in the lesson.
• interactive
• developing collaboration with peers
• allows parents to listen to childrens work or can be used to inform parents.
• teaches children about safety and not using their own names when its used over internet.

Could be used to

• record a story,
• produce a radio show,
• school news
• Djing,
• Interview members of staff or children.
• outdoors podcasting eg. in local environment.

What you will need:
computer with recording ability, software to record, sounds eg. Itunes.

Beware of COPYRIGHT when inserting info/ music on podcasts - eg. use allowed sounds.
get parental permission first.
